Driveways Cost Guide

Asphalt, concrete, and gravel driveway costs.

Paving a driveway is a major exterior investment, and the material you choose affects both upfront cost and how often you'll need to redo the work. HomeAdvisor reports an average project cost of $4,905, with gravel the cheapest material per square foot and pavers the most expensive, though also among the longest-lasting. Site conditions matter too: sloped or poorly draining lots often need added grading or drainage work, and replacing an existing driveway adds removal cost on top of the new installation.
